Dear All
The new (5th) edition of
Lunney & Oliphant, Tort Law: Text & Materials landed on my desk yesterday (no doubt well after ODGers in the UK received their own inspection copies). Whether or not you use the book for your classes, some of you might be amused by my mischievous suggestion
in the revised Privacy chapter (p 796) that one might form a "super injunction XI" from the ranks of those who have sought gagging orders to stop the press reporting on their multifarious misdemeanors:
"Rio Ferdinand [
Ferdinand v MGN Ltd [2011] EWHC 2454 (QB)] could line up in central defence alongside his
predecessor as England captain, John Terry (
LNS v Persons Unknown [2010] EMLR 400), with Gary Flitcroft in midfield (
A v B plc [2003] QB 195), and Ryan Giggs on the wing [
Giggs (previously known as CTB) v News Group Newspapers Ltd [2013]
EMLR 111."
Any (non-libellous!) suggestions of how to complete the line-up?
By the way, my colleague Colm McGrath is still mulling over his choice of name for the ODG fantasy football league, but hopefully he'll let us have his decision very soon.
Cheers
Ken
